The Entrepreneur Soap Lab

Professional Soapmaking: A Business-Focused Intensive is an in-person, 8-week training program for individuals who are ready to start a soap business or refine an existing one with intention, structure, and credibility.

This program goes beyond basic techniques and DIY recipes. Participants learn how to formulate soap intentionally, understand the chemistry behind their formulas, document their processes, and prepare products responsibly for sale. The focus is not just on making soap—but on developing the skills and decision-making required to build a product-based business with consistency and integrity.

Through a combination of instruction, hands-on production, and live formula analysis, participants gain a deeper understanding of how oils, lye, water, and additives interact, and how those choices impact performance, shelf life, customer experience, and scalability.

What Makes This Program Different

This intensive is designed for entrepreneurs who want clarity and control—not trial and error.

You will:

• Learn cold process soapmaking with a business and production mindset
• Develop a working understanding of soap chemistry, including fatty acids, saponification, superfatting, and water control
• Analyze and adjust formulas instead of copying recipes
• Explore hot process soapmaking and liquid soap as strategic product options
• Understand colorants, additives, and ingredient choices with honesty and restraint
• Learn how to approach alternative liquids thoughtfully
• Build foundational documentation and production readiness skills
• Gain pricing clarity and realistic next steps for launching or refining a product

Instruction is paired with applied learning so participants leave with confidence, not confusion. 

What’s Included

Participants receive:

• Eight weeks of in-person instruction (Sundays, 2:00 PM–5:00 PM) starting Sunday, March 1, 2026
• All soapmaking materials used during the program
• Printed handouts and worksheets
• A starter soap mold
• Safety equipment (mask and goggles)
• Tools including a spatula and stick blender to keep
• Guided formula analysis and feedback in a small-group setting

Enrollment is limited to 8 participants to ensure individualized support and hands-on learning. 

Program Outcome

By the end of the intensive, participants will leave with:

• One intentionally formulated soap recipe
• A completed batch record
• A basic production plan
• Pricing clarity for their product
• A clearer understanding of what they are ready to launch—and what should wait
